LEDVANCE is a winner of this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD, a world-renowned design prize. The winning product, the booth of the IFA Consumer Electronics fair 2016 in Berlin, won in the discipline "Interior Architecture". Each year, Germany’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD.

The booth convinced the 58-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its unique and cutting-edge booth design and concept. The competition was intense: over 5,500 entries were submitted from 59 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.

The booth concept

The starting point of the spatial booth conception is the interplay of light and shadow: two differently designed areas in white and black create two exceptional dualistic but interdependent environments. Light Is Smart – the white side of the brand wall shows the "Smart Home" wall representing presence, technical progress and a future wise preview. The visitors can control the LEDVANCE smart lamps with mobile devices and enjoy the lighting moods. Light Is Classic – the black side represents the product group "Edition 1906." Symbolizing history, nostalgia and a retrospective look onto the past.

Since over 60 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been recognized as an arbiter of quality for exceptional design. The iF label is renowned worldwide for outstanding design services, and the iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design prizes in the world. Submissions are awarded in the following disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication and Service Design, Architecture and Interior Architecture as well as Professional Concepts.
